Martial Raysse. Sinema
20,00 €
ISBN: 978-618-5426-69-9Catalogue of the exhibition of the same title. It includes works from the corresponding exhibition hosted at MOMus–Museum of Contemporary Art.
The world of Martial Raysse, one of the most inventive artists of post-war European art, flows between dream and reality. From the fluorescent objects and pop aesthetic of the 1960s to the plein-air works and masked portraits, his trajectory to this day has been a continuous exploration between pop aesthetics, social observation and personal artistic introspection, marked by distinct phases and transformations.
At the core of the exhibition and the accompanying catalogue, Martial Raysse. Sinéma, is his lesser-known body of work devoted to film and video—where his art meets experimental cinema through the use of colour, materiality and everyday life as fields of experimentation. An exceptional self-taught craftsman, attentive to the new technologies of his time, Raysse fully harnessed the vast possibilities offered by the pioneering audiovisual medium from the very early days of colour television.
