Catalogue includes works from the Spring Torrents – Harvard strike posters, Spring 1969 exhibition hosted at State Museum of Contemporary Art. The exhibition presented for the first time in Greece a collection of\u00a054 hand-printed posters\u00a0produced at the printing workshop of the Harvard Graduate School of Design, together with archival material documenting the now-historic student strike at Harvard University in the spring of\u00a01969.<\/p>\n
That spring, students resolved to occupy university buildings and boycott classes in protest against the war in Vietnam, racism, social injustice, and specific administrative decisions they regarded as exploitative toward students and local communities.<\/p>\n
The collection belongs to\u00a0Alexandros Tzonis, who as a young architecture professor at Harvard at the time systematically gathered this material.
