Alexis Gritchenko (1883\u20131977) \u2014 painter and art critic whose work is closely tied to Ukraine, Russia, and France. In the 1910s he was an active participant in the avant-garde scene and developed his own artistic movement\u2014<\/span>Dynamocolor<\/span>\u2014based on bringing together the principles of Cubism and the formal language of the icon. In<\/span> 1919 Gritchenko left Moscow, spent two years in Constantinople, and from 1921 on lived and worked in France.
