The exhibition and its accompanying catalogue refer to the period 1914\u20131918 and the ways in which avant-garde artists in Russia confronted the greatest war in human history. World War I abruptly interrupted the flow of history, causing a rupture in artistic consciousness and, above all, in the philosophy and aesthetics of the pioneering representatives of all the arts.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"563\" data-end=\"967\">At the same time, alongside the intense criticism and fear of the war\u2019s devastating effects on life and the economy, the artists of that period were seized by a revolutionary awareness, unafraid of breaking with the past.
