It includes works from the corresponding exhibition hosted at the MOMus-Thessaloniki Museum of Photography. The title of the main exhibition of the Thessaloniki PhotoBiennale 2021 was inspired by the short story “The Reality and the Record” by Iraqi filmmaker and writer Hassan Blasim, in which an Iraqi man seeking asylum in Sweden recounts his traumatic experiences of war to an immigration officer, an allegorical story that examines how lived experiences are transformed into official narratives. Using the notions of “Reality” and “Record” as cornerstones, the exhibition highlighted the wide spectrum and fluidity between these two pillars. Four general themes served as guidelines to demonstrate the complexity of Reality, as well as its mutable nature: Reality as Truth, the search for concordance with fact or reality. Reality as Visible \/ Invisible, the depiction of subjects that are usually underrepresented or absent altogether as an act that makes the invisible stories visible. Between Fact and Fiction, the construction of a reality that is not only accessible through records, documents and statistics, but equally through experience, memory and interpretation, and Extended Reality, the role of technology in the construction of a new condition that simulates and often substitutes what is real.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":1958,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"product_brand":[],"product_cat":[194,37],"product_tag":[],"class_list":{"0":"post-2482","1":"product","2":"type-product","3":"status-publish","4":"has-post-thumbnail","6":"product_cat-photography-publications","7":"product_cat-publications","9":"first","10":"instock","11":"purchasable","12":"product-type-simple"},"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/shop.momus.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/product\/2482","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/shop.momus.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/product"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/shop.momus.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/product"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/shop.momus.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/1958"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/shop.momus.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=2482"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"product_brand","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/shop.momus.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/product_brand?post=2482"},{"taxonomy":"product_cat","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/shop.momus.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/product_cat?post=2482"},{"taxonomy":"product_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/shop.momus.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/product_tag?post=2482"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
